Education instructors, work closely with Residential Care Work staff to provide a comprehensive, engaging and holistic education programme that meets the needs of each young person.

The school delivers a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum that is individualised for each young person.

It incorporates traditional classroom pedagogy, individualised and flexible project-based learning, and a dynamic out-of-classroom learning approach. Students engage in learning experiences in a broad range of national curriculum subjects (Maths, English, Science, PSHE, Arts etc.). They engage in projects that aim to integrate their understanding and have opportunities to gain ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) awards and AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance) accredited outdoor education unit awards.

The ultimate aim of Arnfield Independent School is to facilitate students’ successful return to full-time mainstream education at either a maintained school or at college, or to facilitate successful engagement with a career pathway through work experience, traineeships and apprenticeships.
